• Low additive content. Tyvek® is mainly made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) polymer without plasticizers. Tyvek® does not add restricted chemicals listed in European Directives like RoHS (2011/65/EU), or REACH Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
• Light weight. Tyvek® offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio. This light weight potentially can reduce energy use in transportation compared to heavier competitive products.
• Do more for less. Lower material weights needed for performance result in less energy and resource consumption, and less material waste at the end of product life.
• Recyclability. Tyvek® is made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and is recyclable.

Recycling DuPont™ Tyvek®

DuPont™ Tyvek® is made from 100% high-density polyethylene (HDPE). For this reason, Tyvek® or products made from Tyvek® can be mechanically recycled into products such as underground cable protection piping, automotive parts, blown film, packaging cores and trays. Products made from Tyvek® which are printed, glued, welded or sewn can recycled. This includes banners, signs, envelopes and other print products made with Tyvek®.
